Gozo “Blue Hole”  
 
 

Location: Gozo, Dwejra.

Description:
The Blue Hole is a natural rock formation carved out over the centuries by wind and wave power. The site offers sheltered entry into the hole after which diver descends down to the bottom of the Blue Hole at 17m, out through the huge archway and on the wall that cascades down to the depth of 50m. The impressive archway starts at 8m and has a flat top, almost square in shape, and covered in golden cup corals. Following the wall to the left, diver will eventually come to the almost vertical fissure that starts at 25m and leads up and through the narrow passage all the way to the west side of the wall and the depth of 6m. This part of the dive is perfect for photography and parrotfish and octopuses are always there to entrance the overall experience.

Maximum depth: 50m
Conditions: Extremely exposed to the northwesterly wind and a dive able in force 4 or higher.
Type: Shore Dive.
Minimum diver ability: Advanced.
